About the Panelists & Speakers
Tim Conway, SANS
Tim Conway serves as the Technical Director – ICS and SCADA programs at SANS, and is responsible for developing, reviewing, and implementing technical components of the SANS ICS and SCADA product offerings. Additionally, performing contract and consulting work in the areas of ICS cyber security with a focus on energy environments.
Gus Serino, Dragos
Gus Serino is a Principal Industrial Hunter at the industrial cybersecurity company Dragos, Inc. where he focuses on remote monitoring and hunting within client environments. Additionally, he focuses on development of alert triage playbooks, assessments of ICT/OT cybersecurity architectures, facilitates cyber incident response tabletop drills, and provides ICS/OT cybersecurity training. Prior to joining Dragos, Gus was part of the SCADA team for a large US water utility, where he held a lead role in the engineering, programming, cybersecurity, and management of a SCADA system. Gus is a mechanical engineer and holds a Professional Engineering License (PE) in Control Systems with twenty years of experience in the design, implementation, management, and security of Industrial Controls Systems. He holds multiple GIAC Cyber Security Certificates, is a member of the GIAC advisory board, and is passionate about solving the cyber security challenges of critical infrastructure.
Andrew Hildick-Smith, OT Sec
Andrew Hildick-Smith worked at a large water and wastewater utility for 30 years, where among other roles he was responsible for the operation, maintenance and security of the SCADA system. He has been active in cybersecurity since 2005 and enjoyed providing modest volunteer assistance over the years to the Water-ISAC, American Water Works Association, EPA, and other organizations. He is a licensed Profession Engineer in Civil Engineering and maintains several cybersecurity certifications. He is currently the Water Sector Chief for the Boston section of InfraGard and a Principal at OT Sec, LLC where he continues to work on cybersecurity in the water sector.
Christopher Walcutt, DirectDefense
Christopher Walcutt is the VP of Strategy at DirectDefense with 25 years of experience in network design, information security, risk analysis & mitigation and compliance in the energy, financial, higher education, and manufacturing sectors. Walcutt is involved with several research initiatives involving the University of Central Florida, Soar Technology, and DARPA as a subject matter expert for energy, smart integrated infrastructure and critical infrastructure security, is the Vice Chair of the NERC CIP Supply Chain Working Group and an AWWA AWIA subject matter expert. He is also a mentor to the CyberPatriot 2016 National Champion Team Netrunners.
