A New Year is a time of new beginnings: I am pleased to announce we now have a new Director for our ISA Water/Wastewater Division!
As of January 1st, Kevin Patel PE of Signature Automation has begun his two year term as Director of the WWID. Kevin has been heavily involved with our division during the past four years, and was most recently as our general symposium chair. Kevin lives in Dallas Texas, where he started his own system integration firm, Signature Automation, in 2012. In addition to our division, Kevin is also active on ISA standards and in the ISA North Texas Section.
Pavol Segedy of HDR Inc is also steps into the role of our 2016-2017 General Symposium Chair. Pavol Segedy has been involved with the symposium for the past three years, and currently leads an automation group out of HDR’s Raleigh North Carolina office. Pavol is also an active member of the North Carolina AWWA Automation Committee.
I am also pleased to announce that our long-time program chair Joe Provenzano, and scholarship chair Michael Fedenyszen will be continuing in their roles for another year. A bit thank you for Joe and Michael for their long-term service, along with our many other dedicated volunteers.
During the past 3 years it has been a pleasure to serve as the Director of the WWID. Thanks to a strong volunteer team, we have been able to revitalize our annual symposium, produce a quality newsletter, and ensure the sustainability of our student scholarship.
By working with other associations in our sector, we have also been able to form strong ties with the Water Environment Federation (WEF), the Florida AWWA, the Florida WEA, and the Instrumentation Testing Association, among others. Through these partnerships we have been able to take on projects such as presenting high quality webinars, hosting automation-focused technical sessions at conferences like WEFTEC, and promoting the importance of Automation in our sector.
Looking to the year ahead, planning for our 2016 symposium is already well underway. If you have not done so already, please visit the symposium website at www.isawaterwastewater.com .
As my term as WWID Director winds to a close, I would like to thank the many volunteer leaders who continue to donate their time and energy towards our division. Running successful technical division is a team effort, and I am proud to be able to stay connection to our division. I am looking forward by continuing stay involved as the WWID newsletter editor.
Please join me in welcoming our Kevin Patel as our incoming Director and Pavol Segedy as our new General Symposium Chair. The best is yet to come!
Warmest Regards,
Graham Nasby
