Held in Raleigh, North Carolina USA on the extended weekend of May 5-8, the SLM brought together ISA leaders from around the globe. Our Water/Wastewater Division (WWID) was in attendance for the Joint I&S/A&T Board meeting for ISA technical divisions, and for a WWID Committee meeting on Sunday May 7th. We were pleased to welcome several new members to the WWID committee, including Ryan Costello from NLS Engineering and Manoj Yegnaraman from Carollo Engineers Inc. After hours we enjoyed some North Carolinian hospitality and had a chance to chat with ISA leaders from places near and far.

At the ISA’s governance meeting, the WWID was pleased to report on the success of our past year’s symposium and how plans are shaping up for our upcoming 2017 ISA Water/Wastewater and Automatic Controls Symposium.  Our 2017 symposium is scheduled to take place August 8-10, 2017 in Orlando, Florida USA at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort Hotel.

Many of our WWID committee members were also at the SLM to attend one of the face-to-face meetings of the ISA112 SCADA Standards Committee. Co-chaired by WWID committee member Graham Nasby, from City of Guelph Water Services, the committee counts several WWID members amongst its ranks.  Charged with developing a standards document and technical reports to codify best practices for SCADA system design, operation and maintenance, the committee one that the WWID is particularly excited to be involved with.
