David Hobart is a mechanical engineer, graduating from McGill University in 1958.  He has spent the forty plus years in the process control industries.  One third of his career was spent with manufacturers: Honeywell, General Electric Process Computer Department and Measurex.  He also worked fourteen years in the engineering world with H.A. Simons International and Symmes, Maini, McKee & Associates.  The most recent third of his career is in the construction management area with Bechtel, Whiting-Turner and a number of consulting assignments microelectronics and chemical demilitarization programs.  During his career he has managed many automation and multi-discipline projects ranging from the relatively small to over $100 million in value.

During his career, David has worked on a variety of Water treatment plants in paper mills, airports in Saudi Arabia, a pulp mill on the Piranha River in Argentina and snow making in Vermont.

He is currently the Principal Consultant at Hobart Automation Engineering, an engineering and construction management firm.

He joined ISA in 1962 and has been a senior member since 1985.  He is a Life Senior Member.
