Ms. Julian Wafer is a project manager and automation engineer at Signature Automation with 14 years of experience in automation and a background in control systems design, integration, configuration, programming, testing and commissioning. She is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, in Ruston Louisiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with minors in Physics and Mathematics. Ms. Wafer has spent her career in the pulp & paper industry, manufacturing industry, and Water and Wastewater industry which has allowed her to develop specialized technical skills for optimizing the programming and automation of process control systems.

Ms. Wafer became a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas in October of 2016, and volunteers on the Texas Board of Professional Engineer’s (TBPE) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam Committee for Electrical and Computer Engineering. She is a member of the International Society of Automation (ISA) where she has served as Membership Chair for the Water and Wastewater Industry Division (WWID) since 2013. She is also a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Texas (ACEC), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and serves as an Education Committee co-chair for the South Texas chapter of Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT).

As an avid control system programmer, Ms. Wafer enjoys learning about a client’s needs and enjoys converting subsequent solutions for those needs into code, logic or an application that can be executed by a controller or a device with a central processing unit (CPU). As project manager, Ms. Wafer enjoys the process of leading a team of engineers and specialists for the execution of a variety of instrumentation and controls (I&C) programming and design projects. As a professional engineer, natural collaborator and problem solver, she enjoys the process of working in a team of design engineers to provide the best recommendations whenever the need arises.
